A very common challenge is reaching the pre-calculated sample size within the planned timeframe for conducting the clinical trial. The inability to enroll the required number of patients reduces the statistical power to test the hypothesis, prolongs the duration of the study, and consumes available resources.
Patient enrollment in the Spectrum clinical trial began in June 2025. According to the protocol, an 18-month recruitment period is planned; therefore, patients may continue to be enrolled throughout 2025. However, it is expected that the required number of patients will be recruited as quickly as possible in order to mitigate the consequences of extending the trial beyond the originally planned timeframe.
For this reason, we are actively promoting the Spectrum clinical trial and holding meetings with staff from several centers to explore the possibility of opening a new site in Barcelona, thereby facilitating access for the largest possible number of patients in the shortest possible time.
